- Cardx and Cardxm Installation -
AUTOMATIC installation:
Change to the Floppy Drive the Cardx distribution disk is in.
On the comand line type:
CINSTALL A:Floppy C:Hard Drive
A directory called CARDX will be created on your hard drive, all files
unpacked into the directory and the batch files CARDX.BAT and CARDXM.BAT
will be copied to your hard drive root directory. If a directory named
CARDX already exists with files in it, you will be prompted if you want
to over write files. You may not want to over write your Custom Print
Program files or if you have been using DEMO.CDX database.
MANUAL installation:
Make a directory on your hard drive called CARDX, "MD CARDX". Copy
CARDX1??.EXE zip file on the Cardx diskette to the CARDX dirctory,
"COPY A:\CARDX1??.EXE C:\CARDX". Change to the hard drive and Cardx
directory and type CARDX1??.EXE, this will unpack the zip file into the
directory.
Copy the batch files CARDX.BAT and CARDXM.BAT to your root directory
from the distribution floppy disk. Batch files packed in the ZIP file
do not contain the key!
CARDX.BAT
---------
CD\CARDX Change directory to CARDX.
<--------------- Key to remove not registered message.
CARDX *.* *.* will bring up a menu of all databases.
CD\ Change directory back to the root directory.
CARDXM.BAT
----------
CD\CARDX Change directory to CARDX
<--------------- Key to remove not registered message.
CARDXM C:\CARDX\DEMO Cardxm needs the complete path to DEMO.CDX
CD\ Change directory back to the root directory
If the non-registered message is still displayed, you are possibly out
of Environment Space. Add "SHELL=\COMMAND.COM /P /E:1024" to your CONFIG.SYS
file in your root directory. If you have a lot of environment variables you
may have to increase the 1024 number even further. Read your DOS manual.
Also if you put the key in your AUTOEXEC.BAT file, put the key right after
the SET PATH= statement.
CONVERT.EXE converts early Cardx version databases to the latest version.
CDEX2CDX.EXE converts CARDEX by Carson Information Services databases to
the latest version of CARDX.
